So I wear a lot of black and currently, more than ever before, I find myself dressed head to toe in an all black ensemble. I don't ever intend to do it it just seems to happen and i usually notice when stood at the bus stop next to my multicoloured housemates that i look somewhat dreary. Do I blame it on January? The constant greyness of the weather and the relentless cold. Not to mention all the excess christmas weight that needs to be oh so carefully hidden under swarths of black fabric. Perhaps, or perhaps i have just become boring and now play it too safe. Either way it HAS to change. A friend recently had a conversation with my about my new habit she commented, "yes black is terribly chic, but you have plenty of time to be chic when you're over 35 and can't get away with 'it' any more." Another friend today commented "this whole all black gothic grunge thing isn't really sitting with you is it?" SO, i bought something RED, bright pillar box red and i intend to wear it with pride, in fact i wore it today and have already had multiple comments on how healthy i was looking (may i add that i haven't had a single compliment the whole way through my "gothic grunge" phase). So its down with black and in with colour. I'll keep you posted on my transformation from dreary caterpillar into technicolor butterfly, every swatch at a time.
FS.
